Housing
The purpose of housing within Nature Towns is to improve human and planetary health while providing for a high quality of life.
Housing Design Goal
In order to live symbiotically with nature and provide for a high quality of residential life, we need to design for the lowest environmental impact through the use of space and materials, as well as for community life. This leads us to the practice of walkable communities surrounded by regenerative agriculture farms/parks. For walkable communities, a layout that supports 16 housing units/acre results in the lowest environmental impact, as well as enabling residents to use cars as well as walk anywhere within 15 minutes, for both young and old.
